Police: Eric Bohlsen shot after lunging at officers in Deer Park

DEER PARK - A Deer Park man shot by police remains hospitalized in stable condition this morning.
Police were called to an apartment complex on Park Center Drive in Deer Park yesterday.

Officials say a man called 911 saying his son, Eric Bohlsen, threatened to cut off his head with a knife.

Police say the 40-year-old son was outside holding a knife when they arrived.
According to police, they Tasered him, then shot him in the chest, when he lunged at officers.
The elder Bohlsen says his son has psychiatric problems and wasn't taking his medication.
Police arrested him on two outstanding warrants. Additional charges are pending.
