BOGOTA - The polls are open and Steve Lonegan, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey, was in Bogota this morning to cast his vote.
Lonegan and Democrat Cory Booker are vying for late Frank Lautenberg's Senate seat.
Both candidates were full-steam ahead in the week leading up to this Election Day. Yesterday, Lonegan was out greeting commuters at a train station as early as 7 a.m., while Booker decided to host a late-night run called "Run with Cory."
Recent polls have shown Booker has at least a 10-point lead over his Republican challenger. Lonegan says he's still feeling confident on Election Day, noting that by making the Senate race competitive, he's accomplished what many said he wouldn't be able to do.
