Honey Boo Boo and Family Recovering From Car Crash

The stars of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" had a big scare last night.

According to Mama June, the mother of Honey Boo Boo, the family was involved in a car crash.

"We were in a car accident last night. It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck," she told ABC News in a statement through the TLC show's publicist. "As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes."

TMZ first reported the wreck and claimed that it happened when a truck without its lights on struck the family's vehicle. The website also reported that Sugar Bear now has a contusion on his back, Mama June is suffering from back and neck sprains, Honey Boo Boo hit her head on a window and Pumpkin has chest bruises and is now experiencing panic attacks. A rep for the show confirmed these accounts to ABC News.

"We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin's birthday," Mama June added. "She turned 14 today, and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate."

Massachusetts Gas Station Explodes After Driver Smashes Gas Pump

An 83-year-old driver plowed through a Massachusetts gas station Monday, knocking over an attendant and causing an explosion after also hitting a gas pump.
The unidentified driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as he made his way into the gas station in Walpole, Mass., around 11 a.m., Monday, according to authorities.
"I heard this big bang, you know, and then I looked at my TV camera and I see a ball of fire," station owner John Nassar said.
Nassar's brother grabbed a fire extinguisher to put out the flames but they were so big that it took three canisters to do the job.
Nassar also saw one of his employees, a gas station attendant, being thrown nearly 30 feet into the air before landing near the side of the road. The employee was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital but was uninjured in the accident, according to authorities.
Nassar said he does not plan to file charges.
"I'm sure he didn't mean it," Nassar told the Wicked Local Walpole. "That's why it's called an accident."

Firefighter finds his daughter dying in crash on Christmas Eve

(CNN) -- Duty called a volunteer firefighter in New Hampshire on Christmas Eve to the site of a fatal car crash, where fate dealt him a heartbreaking blow.
The mangled body of a dying woman he removed from the crushed SUV in the town of Brookline was his own daughter, CNN affiliate WMUR reported, citing police.
Ellworth Austin said he knew both the volunteer firefighter, Steve Whitcomb, and the daughter, Katie Hamilton.
"It's a terrible tragedy," said Austin, who, like Whitcomb, runs a plumbing business in Brookline. "It's Christmas ... and everybody is pretty teary-eyed."
The firefighter didn't recognize his daughter's body at the time, police chief Bill Quigley told local newspaper The Union Leader.
"Her father was the one who pulled her out of the car without knowing it was her," Quigley said.
Hamilton, 30, died of her injuries caused when another vehicle struck hers from behind, pushing it into the opposing lane of traffic, where a third car collided with hers head on, Quigley told WMUR.
Hamilton leaves behind not only her father.
"I know that she is a young mother," Quigley said. "It's a sad, sad day for all of us, not just because it's Christmas Eve."
In Brookline, almost everyone knows Whitcomb and the tragedy he has suffered. The town of 4,000 holds Hamilton and Whitcomb in high regard, Quigley said.
The drivers of the other vehicles were not hurt. Police think the driver of the car that rear-ended Hamilton may have been distracted, the chief said.
"We are pretty certain that speed and impairment were not a factor so that would rule it down to driver distraction at this point," Quigley said.
Police are still investigating the cause, and no one has been charged, WMUR reported.

Bail lowered for man charged in fatal I-95 crash

TRENTON, N.J. - (AP) -- A judge has halved the bail set for a 19-year-old New Jersey man accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal crash on Interstate 95 earlier this month.
Luis Delcid-Cardona of Hamilton Township faces two counts of death by auto and one count of causing serious bodily injury in connection with the Dec. 12 crash. But authorities have said the latter charge will soon be upgraded to another count of death by auto.
Delcid-Cardona's bail was set at $1 million shortly after the crash. And while a judge agreed Monday to lower it to $500,000 cash or bond, he remains jailed.
Delcid-Cardona was injured in the crash that killed his cousin and two friends. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Crash at gas station on Route 1/9 in Linden leaves 7 injured

LINDEN - Seven people are injured after witnesses say a speeding car flipped over and triggered a 3-car accident at a Linden gas station yesterday.
The accident happened on the southbound side of Route 1/9. One witness at a neighboring used-car dealership says a speeding Acura cut off another car, then hit a utility pole, knocking it over.
Once the car hit the pole, the witness says the car flipped over and hit a car that was turning into the gas station. That car then crashed into a third car, which was being filled with gasoline.
A gas pump was also knocked over in the incident.
Seven people were taken to area hospitals. At least one was listed in critical condition.

Police say 43-year-old Jennifer Dawson, of Bensalem, Penn., was traveling northbound this afternoon on Route 29 when she lost control of her vehicle and drifted into the southbound lane. She struck a guardrail and was then hit by a pickup truck.
All three passengers in Dawson's vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. They are identified as her daughter, 28-year-old Shaneek Dawson, and her granddaughters, 5-year-old A'iana Dodson and 4-year-old Trinidi Dawson.
Jennifer Dawson and the other driver, who has not been identified, were taken to Capital Health at Fuld for observation.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed against either driver.
