TOMS RIVER - A man from Toms River is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a woman at the Americana Motel.
Investigators say Steen Tarpley held the victim against her will, sexually assaulted her and stabbed her several times with a screwdriver.
The incident was reported Saturday at the motel on Route 37.

The victim is recovering and in stable condition.
